The Cameron Yoe football team turned up the heat in the 2nd half, running away from the Edna Cowboys in the state semifinals, 70-34. At halftime, Yoe High Principal Kenny Driska presented the family of Noah Ortiz, pictured above, with a check for $36,000. Ortiz, an Edna football player, died in a mobile home fire in late November. The Cameron Yoe football team dominated over arch rival Rockdale last Friday in the state quarterfinals, 44-25. The win helped Cameron exact some revenge from a loss earlier in the year.
