A Step Back in Time |
(Cameron) A time capsule was extracted from the Citizens National Bank Cornerstone Friday, sealed in place more than 70 years ago. In it was numerous pictures and artifacts from the late 1920's, all of which are on display in the bank lobby. The idea was born on July 13th, 1929 by Oxsheer Smith who extended an invitation to all of the bank's customers to deposit one un-mounted photograph in the cornerstone of the new building. That cornerstone was laid on July 20th 1929. | |
On July 20, 1929, several hundred people witnessed the placing of the time capsule in the bank's cornerstone. |
