Perry's Broccoli Soup

4 c Water
2 c Chooped Fresh Broccoli
2 c Chopped Ham
1 med Onion, chopped
2 med Potatoes, chopped
3 tbsp Butter or Margarine
1-1/2 tsp Whole Dried Basil
1 tsp Pepper
1 Chicken Flavored Bullion Cube
1/2 tsp Dried Thyme Leaves
1/3 tsp Salt
1 c Milk
Grated Parmesan Cheese
Combine first 11 ingredients in a dutch oven. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 30 min or until broccoli is tender, stirring occasionally. Spoon 1/3 of mix into a blender and blend 20 secs. Repeat until all ingredients have been blended. Pour mix back into dutch oven. Stir in milk and simmer 20 min. Garnish each serving with cheese if desired. Yields about 7 cups.
