Fruit and Nut

Chocolate Chip Pie

2 eggs
1/2 cup packed brown sugar

1/4 cup granulated sugar
1teaspoon grated orange peel
1/8 a teaspoon of salt
1 cup ( 2 sticks) of butter , melted
1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
1 cup dried cranberries or raisins
1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
whipped cream ( optional)
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Combine eggs, brown sugar, granulated sugar, vanilla , orange peel and salt in a large bowl; whisk until well blended. Whisk in butter and flour until blended. Stir in chocolate chips, Pecans and cranberries. pour into crust. Bake 50 minutes or until top is puffed and golden brown. cool completely on wire rack. Serve with whipped cream , if desired. Makes 8 servings
