Basic Blackberry


6-8 c Fresh Blackberries (about 1.5 lbs)

1-1/4 c Sugar, plus 1 tbsp for crust
5 tbsp All-Purpose Flour
1/2 tsp Salt
4 tbsp Unsalted Butter, cut into 16 slices for berries and 2 tbsp Unsalted Butter in slices for crust
2 (9.5-inch) refrigerated Pie Crusts, cut into strips
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Place berries in a bowl. Add sugar, flour, and salt. Stir gently to combine. Pour mix into a 9x13 baking dish and spread into even layer. Place 16 butter slices evenly over top. Take pie crust strips and lace over berries, leaving some space between weaves to berries are visible. Sprinkle with remaining sugar and sliced butter. Bake until berries are bubbly and crust is golden brown, about 40-45 min. Place no wire rack to cool for 30 min. Serve with ice cream if desired.
