Texas Tornado Cake


1-1/2 c Sugar

2 Eggs
2 c All Purpose Flour
1 c Chopped Nuts
2 c Fruit Cocktail with Syrup
2 tsp Baking Soda
1/4 c Brown Sugar
1 stick Butter
1 c Coconut, optional
3/4 c Brown Sugar
1/2 c Evaporated Milk or Half-n-Half
For cake, mix regular sugar, eggs, fruit cocktail, baking soda, and flour. Pour into greased and floured 9x13 pan or baking dish. Combine brown sugar and nuts. Sprinkle over batter. Bake at 325 degrees for 40 minutes. For icing, combine ingredients in saucepan and boil 2 minutes. Spoon over cake while hot. Let cool and cut into squares.
