Punch Bowl Cake

1 Box Yellow Cake Mix
1 Can Cherry Pie Filling
2 Bananas (sliced)
1 Large and 1 small can crushed pineapple
2 pkg. instant vanilla pudding (prepared according to directions on box)
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup shredded coconut (optional)
1/4 cup Maraschino Cherries
1- 12 oz. tub of Cool Whip

Bake cake following directions on box. Let cool. Crumble half of the cake in bottom of a large punch bowl. Spoon half of the pudding mixture on top of cake followed by half of the Cherry Pie filling, then add half of the sliced bananas, then spoon on half of the pineapple and top layers with half of the Cool Whip. Repeat layers starting with the cake. When all ingredients have been added, garnish top with the Pecans, Cherries, and Coconut. Store in refrigerator.
