Bacterial Meningitis case Confirmed at Yoe High School A Yoe High School student has been diagnosed with Meningococcal Meningitis, often refered to as spinal meningitis. The student was lifelighted to Scott and White Hospital in Temple Thursday night and remains in ICU Friday. High School principal Luthur Flinn said a letter was sent home with all high school students today signed by school nurse Ethel Marek and Dr. Sid Richardson MD. The letter stated that a student has been diagnosed with Bacterial Meningitis and those who came in close contact with the student should contact their family Doctor or the Milam County Health Department. KMIL has acquired a fact sheet about this disease. Rod Holcomb of the Milam County Health Department told KMIL news that the disease is not easily transmitted.
