(CENTRAL TX) Residents in the Ranch listening area are being urged to prepare for possible wintry weather for the end of this week.
National Weather Service forecasters have already issued a Winter Weather Advisory through Noon Friday for the Central Texas area. The advisory means minor accumulations of ice are expected. Forecasters warn that the advisory could still be upgraded to a watch or warning.
As of now, temperatures are expected to remain in the low-40s for much of today. Wind chills will help make it feel much colder as we near sundown. Lows tonight are expected to be well below freezing, down in the mid-20s. Coupled with the frigid temperatures will be a 50% chance of possible sleet. Residents need to remember to protect their pipes, pets, and plants tonight.
In addition, Ranch-area listeners will wake up Friday to more cold temperatures and possibly icy roads, so commuters will need to be careful Friday morning. Daytime temperatures tomorrow are expected to hover just above freezing, and should fall just below that mark overnight.
As for the weekend, temperatures should begin to steadily rise through Sunday.
