(TEMPLE) A Temple doctor has been named to a statewide council for a 3rd time.
On Monday, Texas Governor Greg Abbott named Aaron Pierce as presiding officer to the Council on Sex Offender Treatment. Pierce was 1st appointed to that council in 2005 and has now been re-appointed twice. That council is tasked with setting standards for treatment and oversees licensing of providers. Currently, Pierce serves as clinical director at Clinical and Forensic Consulting Services in Waco. He also comes with Milam County ties, having served on the Milam County Community Resource Coordination Group. He currently serves as a member of the Texas Department of State Health Services Training Advisory for Youth Camps and Texas House of Representatives Select Interim Committee on Sex Offender Statuses. In the past, he has also served on the Bell County Child Welfare Board. His new term would expire in 2021.
