(HUTTO) In order to reach hiring capacity, the City of Hutto is set offer additional incentives for new police officers.

Hutto Police Department is currently operating 4 officers short, but has also had trouble filling positions because of their proximity to other larger municipalities. To catch up, Police Chief Earl Morrison, Jr. said the city is now offering incentives to new hires who come with at least 5 years experience. Those applicants won`t have to take written tests or physical fitness tests, though they will still have to go through field training and oral interviews. In addition, Chief Morrison said there is now added pay for more experienced officers as well. Currently, the City is running with only 34 officers. To apply, go to the city`s website.
