(CAMERON) Milam County Commissioners opened a new window to facilitate early retiree county healthcare options.
During their regular meeting Monday, the Court moved to open a temporary early retirement window to qualify for county healthcare. From September 23rd through October 31st, county employees will be able to retire at 57 with 16-years of service, 50 with 28-years of service, or 63 with 10-years of service. Those new thresholds knock off 2-years in age and service at each tier.
In other business, the Court moved to allow Judge John Youngblood to hold 20th District Court jury call for the upcoming murder trial outside of the Milam County Courthouse. District Court is expected to call as many as 500 panelists as part of the jury pool for Brandon Charles Cotton`s murder trial. Cotton and another man were arrested in connection to the shooting death of Sandra Phillips of San Gabriel.
