(CALVERT) A railroad crossing in Calvert is open again after a collision between a train and an 18-wheeler.

The Robertson County Sheriff`s Office responded just before 4PM Wednesday to the railroad crossing at Gregg and Railroad Streets in Calvert in reference to a Union Pacific train that had struck an 18-wheeler. According to deputies, the big rig had become stuck on the tracks at the crossing when it was struck by the train. The driver of the big rig, who has not been identified, escaped unharmed. Union Pacific officials say the train engineer suffered some minor injuries. No cars are thought to have derailed because of the collision, though it took crews about 4 hours to clean up and clear the scene.
