(WACO) Carolyn Ann Sherman, 79, born on March 22, 1945, in Oakland, California, passed away peacefully, on Thursday, January 30, 2025 in Waco, Texas, surrounded by her loving family.
Carolyn lived a life marked by devotion and resilience. As an honorable housewife, she was a steadfast partner to her husband, Eddie Sherman Sr., with whom she brought two cherished children into the world. Though their marriage eventually dissolved, Carolyn’s heart found new love, leading her to a partner Clyde Lee with whom she experienced the joys and tribulations of life together. She supported this partnership through various entrepreneurial endeavors centered around the entertainment industry.
Education played a significant role in Carolyn’s formative years; she graduated from B.C. Elmore High School, after which she dedicated herself to her family. Carolyn was immensely proud of her loved ones, and she celebrated their successes with traditional family photographs that adorned her home.
With a vivacious personality, Carolyn was known for her love of music, dancing, and fun. A woman of integrity, she balanced honesty with compassion, always ready to lend an ear or offer an honest assessment when needed. Her interests included singing, music, and nostalgic TV shows. These hobbies that brought her joy and allowed her to express her vibrant spirit.
Family was the cornerstone of Carolyn’s life. She cherished the special moments shared with her children Vickie and Eddie, who ensured that she engaged regular family BBQs, dominoes games, and milestones throughout the years. She is survived by her son, Eddie Lee Sherman Jr and his wife Allisa; one brother, Robert Hart; two sisters, Deborah Hart and Eldreda Brown, along with her husband Wesley; and a robust lineage that includes six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, with an additional blessing on the way.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, L.C. Cruse and Irene (Walker) Cruse and stepfather Samuel Hart; her lifelong partner Clyde Lee, her daughter, Vickie Sherman; her brother, L.C. Cruse Jr.; and her sister, Sandra Hart.
A memorial service will be held in her honor on Friday, February 7, 2025 at 12:00p.m. at Bethesda Fellowship Ministries.
Her legacy lives on through the lives she touched and the love she fostered. Carolyn Ann Sherman will be remembered not only for her engagement in the lives of her family and friends but also for the indelible impression she left on all who were fortunate enough to know her.
