Carol Ann Washington was born May 16, 1960 in Odessa, Tx to Willie Mae Bell Clayton and Robert Alfred Clayton Jr. She passed away peacefully on April 16, 2025, in Milano, Texas, at the age of 64. Preceded in death by her parents Willie Mae (Bell) Clayton and Robert Alfred Lee Clayton Jr, younger brother Timothy Clayton, and many other beloved relatives. She is survived by her two children Claytonia DeAnn Washington (Charles), and Casterdary-CJ Washington Jr. Two granddaughters CariAnn Foster and Kyrie Foster. Four sisters: Lillie Clayton, Brenda Majors (Terry), Janet Sculark (Greg), and Regina Hardy (Robert); one brother: Robert Alfred Lee Clayton III; ex-husband Casterdary Washington Sr. (Angela); and a host of aunts, uncles, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nephews, and great-great nieces.
Carol graduated from Milano High School in 1978 and later attended Temple College, where she studied drafting and computer-aided design (CAD). Over the years, she built a diverse career with positions at Royal Seating, the Brazos County Office of the Attorney General, the USS Orleck in Lake Charles, and the Veterans Affairs office in Temple, Texas.
A woman of many talents and passions, Carol enjoyed crafting, DIY projects, making homemade candy, and traveling. She was deeply devoted to her family and supported her family and friends however she could. She enjoyed being the best Nana ever, spoiling and supporting her grandchildren in everything they did, especially being there with them as they competed in track and field throwing events across the country.
Her faith was a guiding force throughout her life. She loved the Lord and became a follower of Christ at a young age at Cameron Grove Baptist Church in Cameron, Tx. She also fellowshipped at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Temple, Tx, Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Lake Charles, La and Lights Chapel Baptist Church in Cameron, Tx.
Visitation will be Friday April 25, 2025 from 3pm-5pm at to Dorsey-Keatts, 714 W 10th St, Cameron, Tx 76520. Funeral services will be Saturday April 26, 2025 with a viewing at 10am and services starting at 11am at Cameron Grove Baptist Church in Cameron, Tx. Burial will follow in the Griffin Chapel Community Cemetery and a repast will be hosted at the Central Church of Christ Fellowship Hall (1102 Starlight St., Cameron, Tx 76520).
