September 25-27

October 2
The annual Blessing of the Animals at All Saints Episcopal Church in Cameron will be 11AM-2PM Sunday, October 2nd. An outdoor Pet Mass will begin at Noon, with full service of communion. All denominations and pets are welcome. A fall festival runs from 1-3PM to include pony rides, train rides, a petting zoo, food, giveaways, and individual blessing of pets. Free rabies vaccinations will also take place.

October 6-8
The St. Monica Religious Education and Youth Ministry annual Rummage Sale will be October 6-8 at Simon George Hall from 9AM-3PM each day. There will be tools, clothes, toys, furntiure, and more.

October 9
The 115th annual Westphalia Picnic at the Church of the Visitation will be Sunday, October 9th. Meal plates are $15 and include homemade fried chicken, sausage, famous Westphalia noodles, green beans, slaw, and cake. Drive through is available starting at 10AM with inside dining beginning at 10:30AM. A live auction will take place at 2PM and the Praha Brothers play from 11AM-2PM. Games kick off at Noon. There will also be a raffle drawing. The Little School museum will be open from 9AM-5PM and sausage wraps will be sold from 10AM-3PM. Shuttle service will be available from 10AM-6PM.

November 5
The Seaton Brethren Church Christian Sisters will host their annual bake sale/quilt show fundraiser on Saturday, November 5,from 9AM to 2PM inside the fellowship building of the church at 12561 TX53 in Temple (Seaton). Kolaches, cakes, pies, cookies, jellies, pecans, home-made canned goods & chicken dressing will be available for sale. Pre-orders for chicken dressing only are being taken up to October 24. Call (254) 718-5356 or (254) 913-6054 to pre-order. Dressing is to be picked up at the church the day of the fundraiser. Sandwiches and home-made soup will be available for sale. A Re-Sale shop of gently used items will be open. A handmade quilt and gift cards from businesses will be given away for a love donation of $1 per ticket or 6 tickets for $5. Proceeds from the fundraiser will defray the cost of the sanctuary repairs. Admission to the fundraiser is free and open to the public.

November 5
A drive-thru only pulled pork sandwich & sausage wrap fundraiser will be held at Seaton Brethren Church on Saturday, November 5 from 10AM to 2PM. The bake sale and soup & sandwich lunch will be inside the fellowship building from 9AM to 2PM. Proceeds from this fundraiser will defray the cost of the sanctuary repairs. Fundraiser is open to the public.

The Gause United Methodist Church hosts a community Bible Study each Sunday afternoon at 5:00. Located in Gause at the corner of Walnut and FM 2095. Typically the sessions last about 1.5 hours. We are working our way through the Bible one chapter at a time. Our format is very informal and you can easily choose how much input you wish to make or how many questions you wish to ask! Your Bible knowledge level is not important. We have people with all levels of knowledge and our format is a general discussion of the verses as we read them together. So, if you are curious about the Bible or you want to hone your knowledge, come join us. Everyone is welcome!

Cameron Area Chirstian Services Thrift Shop is open Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 9AM to 3pm and located at 300 South Houston in Cameron TX. Used clothing and many other types of items are for Sale to the Public. Donations of food, funds and other items are accepted during the same hours.

AMAZING GRACE THRIFT SHOP on Hwy 36 in Buckholts is a non-profit organization that relies on donations to make this a ministry of God’s grace and uses the money for scholarships, school supplies, the area youth center, the VFD, and other community projects that God puts on their hearts. MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) meets on the 2nd Wednesday of the month Sept. - May at the First Baptist Church in Rockdale at 9:30am. MOPS is open to any mother with children aged birth - kindergarten. Meetings include breakfast, devotion, speakers, and crafts. Child care is provided. Dues are $25 in the fall and $25 in the spring.
