(HUTTO) The City of Hutto will get help with roadway funding.
United States Representative John Carter announced the City of Hutto will get $1.4 million in grant funding provided by the US Department of Transportation and awarded to the Texas Department of Transportation for road work projects in the city. The money is expected to aid in work at the intersections of US79 and FM1660. Voters in the city approved a $70 million bond package to work on those intersections which would include roadway improvements at the US79 and FM1660 north intersection and US79 and FM1660 south intersection. Enhanced features would include additional turn lanes and highway widening. The project is expected to begin in the fall of 2021.
